Happy Year of the Moribund Aardvark

The first stamps of the new year have certainly proved to be interesting.

The usual set of definitives held a surprise - multiple sports!

THe new design has brought the definitives, all but the Penny Patrician, into consistant theme. Each features the Morpork and Ankh in the supportingsaw-tooth columns.

The sports

The Post Office Half Penny featured the disappearance of the AM Coat of Arms from above the main door.

The Penny Patrician disappered!

The Ankh Two Pence reminded me of Hamlet; 2p and not 2p

The Morporkia Five Pence only had one sport, the owl's eyeshad lost their irises but there were teo of them on thesheet.

The Morporkia Ten Pence has one of ther hippos taking a rest break

The $1 Tower of Art has the hippo on the right replacerd by an aardvark
The surprise came with the sheet I received. First it has a second set of perforation a the bottom of the stamp and the fifth stamp had an imperfection; a white blod over the saw-tooth pattern on the left.

The Cabbage Field Fifty Pence two sports; the elongated farm house and the mkissing Morpork and Aknh, just like the Half Penny.

The year name may be Moribund but the stamps after nearly 20 years are still alive and kicking. I cannot wait to see whet unfolds as we move towards June and the anniversay.

Welcome to the Journal

The first Stanley Howler Stamp Journal was published in November 2004 and this continued up to Journal 26, published in the spring of 2012.
After a short break two electronic versions of the journal, 27 and 28, were published.

The previous Journals can be found in the Discworld Stamp Catalogue.

The pressure of other work has made it difficult to continue with a formal publication. However, it has been decided to publish an informal blog.
